A NEW 2008 piece by Chris Cocozza!

A little history (part III): In late 2007 I was called in to do some shoots for Chris Cocozza. These covers were the first glimpse of a "new" Stefan. A Stefan that has matured some, but in a way that compliments this genre of literature. Let's say I'm not as soft as I used to be.

During the later part of 2007 I started putting together a new portfolio to re-emerge into the scene. Over New Year's I released my new portfolio to the studios and the artisits and art directors. I've been busy with book covers since then and hope to continue to post any artwork that comes my way. My plans are also to expand into other facets of the imaging business. Will keep you posted.

Please forgive me if I cannot update the site as often as it was in the past, I am no Cat.

A little history (part II): To add to the duress (financially) of a major expansion, in 2005 my business also felt the presence of a new competitor in the form of a deep pocket, Wall Street listed, national giant which opened a new club three times the size of my club, just three miles down the road. This national chain is very aggressive and because of it, a lot of clubs on the East Coast have had to close their doors.

The saying that competition brings out the best rings so true. Although I had started "reinventing" my club a long time ago, in 2005 I needed to throw my ideas into full swing.

This national chain strives to be "Everything for Everybody". I therefore turned my tune into "Not something for everyone, but something very special for You." T his idea is what set me apart, and here I am in 2008, a bit scarred, but very much alive and kicking. (Incidentally, the same national chain just opened ANOTHER club six miles down the road on the other side of me. They sure do try, but I'm here to stay.)

In February 2006 with the club's expansion done, and some free time on my hands, I found myself lured back into doing personal training (which is how I got started in this business in the first place.)

I can tell you, that in training people, I have renewed a passion in life. In the past two years, I have developed my training ideals so much further and beyond what I have ever had in the past. I can also state, that these past years have gotten me into the BEST shape of my life.

It's this training initiative that got me started on the road back to modelling.

During this time preoccupied with my business, I didn't stop modelling altogether. The studios still called me occasionally and I said yes as much as I could.

Here are just a few of the covers that were done during these last years:

I can tell you outright that I wasn't as sharp as I could have been for these covers, but I am glad to have had the opportunity to do the work and keep a foot in the door. Sometime during this period I realized (again) how much I loved doing this. I missed this part of my life, and I knew I wanted to come back. However to put both feet back in this world, I needed to make a concerted effort.

2007 saw the beginnings of that effort. 2008 saw the culmination.

Let's catch up: BLINK - We're back! We'll, let's say that I'm back, as Cathandra (Cat the Admin) who built and developed the original site as well as all the amazing graphics is not able to join us, at least at the moment. You may have read her last post explaining how busy she was getting with a new marriage as well as newborns. I've been in brief contact with her when our schedules would allow and she seems to be fine, just consumed with being mommy. She carried the torch for this website for many years. I wish her all the Best!

Understand that without Cat, this site will not be the site you used to know as I have hardly enough time to manage my club's site. My plan is to keep the classic site open for viewing, but develop a new portfolio site geared professionally for the modelling business. I will try to share new artwork and jobs as I get them. I'll have to think of how to convey that with you.

A little history: (Let's do this in parts) These past years I've had to take a step back from modeling and put both of my feet into my club, Evolution. These last 3 years have been the most challenging of all. In mid 2004 I became engaged in the largest construction/expansion of my club to date. I became so engrossed with it that at one point, I actually I let my hair grow long, and swore I wouldn't shave until I finished the work. Demolition, framing, tiling, electric and more it was a bear of a job. Financially it almost broke me.

In February of 2006, I finished and finally opened this latest and much needed expansion of the club, the new Evolution lounges. It was then that I finally cut my hair and shaved.
